Meet Shelly: the turtle who beat the banks
By Tom Okafor

Why a turtle?
Every fintech brand promises speed with the same visual clichés: rockets, lightning bolts, falcons. We wanted the opposite instinct — the animal everyone bets against.
Shelly started as a whiteboard joke: “our transfers are so fast even a turtle wins.” The joke stuck, then became the brand. A turtle surfing a bank card through the sky is impossible to confuse with any bank.
Slow money, fast rails
There’s a deeper point in the shell. Good money habits are slow: steady saving, patient investing, compound interest. The infrastructure should be fast so the habits can be slow. Shelly is both at once.
